Rumours of a rift between Padmaavat’s actors Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have been doing the rounds ever since the film's poster release in 2017. The reports which took a backseat after Karni Sena's violent protests, seems to have resurfaced again.
Shahid Kapoor shocked one and all when he reportedly said that he would have played Alauddin Khilji's character differently than Ranveer Singh. Shahid made this comment after pointing out that Ranveer had once said he would have done 'Kaminey' better than him.
Ranveer has now reportedly taken back his words and accepted that he was arrogant when he made the 'Kaminey' comment.
Ranveer Singh has reportedly responded to this saying, "I think in my first year I was very arrogant. In retrospect, that is not something I should have said. I regret saying that"
The Dil Dhadakne Do actor also defended Shahid's comments on playing Alauddin Khilji differently saying, "What is wrong in saying that, it's stating the obvious. Every actor brings something unique to the table, so every actor will approach a part in his or her own way."
The war of words continues to rage on between Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. In addition to the aforementioned remark, Shahid Kapoor recently raised eyebrows when he reportedly said that he felt like an outsider on the sets of Padmaavat. In response to which, Ranveer Singh in an interview to a news website said that he tried his best to make Shahid feel welcome on the sets of Padmaavat. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are known to share a good rapport with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali ever since they first worked together in Ramleela.
Well we can only hope that the two bury the hatchet soon and we get to see Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor create the Padmaavat magic on screen again.
