As Hema Malini made abundantly clear while condoling Sridevi's untimely and shocking death, the latter had ruled in regional films before she ventured into Bollywood to rule Hindi films. The actress started off as a child artist who then made her mark in the south film industry. She later ventured into Bollywood. Sridevi was referred to as the first female superstar. The 'Chandni' actress has starred in movies directed by the uber-talented director Yash Chopra. His directorial 'Chandni' starring Rishi Kapoor was the highlight of her career. She has acted with many superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Anil Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor to name a few. The actress made her Bollywood comeback with Gauri Shinde's 'English Vinglish' and was last seen in 'Mom' starring Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She also starred opposite South superstar Vijay and made her comeback in the South film industry with her performance in 'Puli'.
