Marvel Comics Legend and Avengers creator Stan Lee hospitalised

The 95-year-old was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California after suffering shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat

Marvel comics legend Stan Lee was hospitalized on Friday, February 2,  as he suffered from shortness of breath and an irregular heartbeat. The 95-year-old was immediately rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, to receive treatment. However, the Hollywood Reporter cites a representative of Lee saying that he is doing fine. 

According to reports, the Marvel legend's representative has released a statement saying that Stan is doing well and feeling good. The representative reportedly also said that Stand is staying in the hospital for a few days for some check-ups as a safety precaution.

Stan Lee who created many of characters in the all-conquering Marvel Cinematic Universe way back in the 1960s maintains an active lifestyle despite his years. He was most recently on hand for the premiere of the upcoming Black Panther earlier this week. Lee, who later became the face of 'Marvel' has made cameo appearances in all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that kicked off in earnest with Iron Man in 2008. 

Stanley Lieber also known as Stan Lee is the chairman emeritus of Marvel Comics started his journey in the sci-fi world as an assistant at the new Timely Comics division of Pulp magazine in 1939. As per media reports, he made his comic-book debut with Captain America Comics in 1941, under the pseudonym 'Stan Lee'. The 95-year-old took up several roles in the comic industry throughout his life.  He is known to be an editor, film executive producer, actor, and publisher. He was the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, and later took up the position of its publisher and chairman before he resigned as a member of the editorial board. 

He along with other comic artist created several iconic characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic FourDaredevil, Black Panther, the X-MenAnt-ManIron Man and Thor. The comic-world legend has received several prestigious awards including 'The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame' and the 'Jack Kirby Hall of Fame'. He was also the receiver of the 'National Medal of Arts' in 2008. Stan Lee is considered as the base of Marvel's creations because it was under his guidance the Marvel Comics subsequently expanded from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.
