A video of Ali Zafar breaking down live on a news channel is going viral on social media. The Pakistani actor-singer was talking about the sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by fellow singer-actor Meesha Shafi last year. The ‘Tere Bin Laden’ star termed it as a ‘painful’ time following the allegations and even accused Shafi of making fake accounts to destroy his career.

In the video from a Pakistani news channel, Ali can be seen breaking down and saying, “This immense pain I have felt within me and also my wife and kids (have experienced it). I didn’t utter a word for a year. I felt I'll do it through the court and the right procedure, but she made fake accounts and tweets. And they tagged all major organisations like the United Nations because of which every person or company that wants to hire me (didn’t) and so that my career is completely finished.”

Zafar had recently released a statement and shared pictures of the court order ‘exonerating’ him in the ‘eyes of the law’ in the case.

It was in April last year that Meesha Shafi had accused Zafar of sexual harassment in a post on Twitter.

Zafar had denied the allegations then and in June that year had slapped a defamation suit against her.
