Union Railways and Finance Minister Piyush Goyal has posted quite a stunning clipping that shows just how much India's economy has grown in the last few years, especially since the Modi government came into power.

The list, from a prominent global business daily, features a 9-year chart of the biggest economies in the world.

Unsurprisingly, the US, with its gargantuan economy is atop the list, while the next three places are taken up by China, Japan and Germany respectively for each of the eight years in the list. However, beyond the top-4, India appears to be causing bedlam in the global scales, and this is starkest since 2015.

In 2010, the list shows India as being the ninth-biggest economy in the world, behind the likes of France, the UK, Brazil and Italy. For the next four years, however, it falls to 10th in the list, as Russia also overtakes it.

The relatively dismal run continues for the next four years as India appears destined to remain in 10th spot. However, in 2015, India jumps!

Canada, Brazil and Russia, three nations that have vastly more land area than India, are overcome, as is Italy. Suddenly, India is in 7th spot! The run continues for three years as India prepares for its next spring. And in 2018, as per estimates, it's jumped over both France and the UK, two old colonial powers!

Accordingly, as per the publication, India is the fifth-largest economy in the world. And the titans who have made the top-4 positions their own had better watch out!
