Shortly after the game changer budget was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, an array of industrialists gathered at Confederation of Indian Industry and shared their take on Budget 2018.
On speaking to Republic TV, CII President Shobana Kamineni said,
“it is an ambitious budget for healthcare. It is even more than the United States or the NHS.”
Rajan Navani, Chairman of Council of Future Business said,
“When we talk about ease of living, it is a landmark initiative. To me, it is the ‘Modi-care’ which is significantly different from those around the world.”
MS Unnikrishnan, Chairman, CII National Committee on Industrial Relations said,
“It should not remain on paper as a dream. It is a very good budget for the country. It is going to benefit the industry indirectly and we are happy about that”
Deepak Premnarayen, executive chairman, ICS Group highlighted,
“I am happy with the budget. It is ambitious and populous at the same time. We are not a manufacturing country, services is where we will improve - healthcare, hospitality, and entertainment.”
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday stressed that this year's Union Budget would focus on four aspects namely - strengthening of agriculture, education, healthcare benefits and improving infrastructure. FM also announced two new measures in his fifth Budget under the government's Ayushman Bharat scheme, which are expected to take healthcare to greater heights.
