Approximately 48 hours after the news of her death broke, sources in Dubai are notifying Republic TV with fast-paced developments on Sridevi’s death. Sources have now told Republic TV that certain clearances are yet to be given to the authorities so there is likely to be a further delay in bringing Sridevi’s mortal remains back to India.

Additionally, sources also tell us that the Emirates tower hotel is yet to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Dubai Police, which may indicate that the room in which Sridevi died has been sealed off by authorities.

In an earlier newsbreak, Republic TV was told by top sources that the Dubai Police recorded the statement of Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor in the matter-- questioning that lasted approximately 16-18 hours.

In news that had shocked the nation, Sridevi had been found dead in her hotel room in Dubai where she had gone to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. The initial cause had been said to be cardiac arrest, however the medical report released on Monday had concluded it to be ‘accidental drowning’.

In the medical and death certificates, the date of death has been listed as February 24, i.e. Saturday.
