Sridevi's mortal remains still in Dubai; autopsy completed and report expected. Find all the latest information here

Relevant formalities to bring back the mortal remains of Sridevi are yet to be completed, the Consul General of India in Dubai has said to Republic TV. Here are all the latest updates

Sridevi's mortal remains may only arrive in India later on Monday evening, as the Consul General of India in Dubai, Vipul, has confirmed to Republic TV that the relevant formalities are yet to be completed.

However, the Bollywood icon's autopsy has been completed and the post-mortem report is expected at around noon UAE time.

As per sources, Sridevi's hotel room in Dubai has been marked as a 'crucial spot' by investigators and forensic blood tests have been done to check for alcohol content, which is a routine procedure in all such cases.

Earlier, on Sunday, Republic TV had been informed that Sridevi hadn't left her room for 48 hours before she died and that Dubai authorities would only release her mortal remains after the post-mortem was completed. Her mortal remains are expected to be brought back on Anil Ambani's private jet.

Late on Sunday night, YRF communications had issued a statement regarding Sridevi's death, which read as follows:

Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi, Khushi and the entire Kapoor, Ayyappan and Marwah family is deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor. They thank the entire media for their prayers, support and sensitivity during their time of grief. 

Late Sridevi Kapoor’s body will arrive in India tomorrow. We will update you on all further information as and when it’s available to us. 

Request you to kindly reach out to us on everything related to this and we urge you to please not call the family for information on the same.

A number of industry persons are expected to attend Sridevi's funeral which is scheduled to take place on Monday, pending the repatriation of her mortal remains. Tamil films superstar Rajinikanth, who was Sridevi's co-lead in the 1976 Tamil film, Moondru Mudichu, in which she got her first leading role, has also arrived in Mumbai. 

In news that shocked the Nation, Sridevi died late on Saturday night in Dubai after suffering a cardiac arrest. The complete medical reasons for her death will only be known once the post-mortem report is out. She was there to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding.
