Hack:

  • The Unnao rape victim's uncle has accused rape-accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of having his brother killed
  • The victim's uncle made a number of stunning allegations and revelations on LIVE TV, including about a meeting his niece and he had with UP CM Yogi Adityanath
  • The family is living in fear, the victim's uncle said, speaking about their plight

BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar had the Unnao rape victim's father killed, the victim's uncle alleged live on Tuesday's primetime edition of The Debate with Arnab Goswami on Republic TV.

"They had my brother killed", the victim's uncle said on multiple occasions, naming the MLA's accomplices and revealing the family's plight.

"We've left home. We're living in a hotel. If we return, we'll be killed! My brother has five young daughters. How long will we live in a hotel?", he asked.

He demanded justice and asked why he wasn't informed earlier that his brother had been so grievously assaulted, saying that he would have at least ensured that he'd got medical treatment.

Yogi Adityanath had promised a probe

Later in the same programme, the victim's uncle made startling allegations regarding the BJP MLA's brother Atul Singh Sengar, whom he accused of previously shooting and killing a top cop. He narrated the sequence of events that led to his brother being killed. Most pertinently, he specifically described how he had earlier taken his niece to UP CM Yogi Adityanath who had promised an investigation though no such probe eventually came about. The victim's uncle said he reposed his faith in the courts, but on the day of the first hearing he received threats from the rape-accused MLA.

"Come with me. Withdraw all these allegations. We'll marry off all your daughters", the rape-accused MLA allegedly said to the victim's brother.

Earlier developments in the case

The disclosures follow a string of revelations through the day on Tuesday, a day after the victim's father died of grievous injuries, and two days after the rape-victim had attempted to self-immolate in front of CM Yogi Adityanath's residence in a desperate attempt to get justice over her allegation that the BJP MLA and his associates had raped her.

Two audio conversations of the victim's uncle, one with the rape-accused MLA and another with the Uttar Pradesh police, had demonstrated just how uphill the family's struggle had been. The MLA seemingly threatened him, while the Police appeared to have removed the rape-accused MLA and his brother's names from the complaint.

Before that, the post-mortem of the victim's father had revealed that he had been viciously attacked and had sustained fourteen injuries all across his body, in particular, around his back and abdomen. He eventually succumbed to those injuries but in suspicious and potentially abhorrent circumstances. A video of the victim's father lying grievously injured at a hospital was accessed by Republic TV and showed that instead of being administered much-needed medical treatment, instead, his fingerprints were recorded and he was allegedly taken into police custody.

The rape-accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar's brother Atul Singh Sengar was arrested on Tuesday by the Lucknow crime branch. The rape-accused MLA, however, has neither been arrested nor been suspended from the BJP
