One of the prominent leaders of Congress from the state of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar showcased appalling arrogance when he slapped a supporter who attempted to click a selfie with him. The latest incident took place on February 4 in Bellary district of the state.
Furthermore, earlier in November, DK Shivakumar lost him calm when a man decided to take a selfie with the leader during his interaction with the media. A video of the incident which did not take long to go viral on social media, showed the infuriated minister react by hitting the man on his arm.
"Have basic common sense. When I'm carrying out my responsibility and addressing the press, how can someone come out for a selfie? It was a normal incident," said the minister later in his defence, as reported by ANI.
The minister for petroleum and energy has been at the center of controversy ever since his properties at Bengaluru were raided by the Income Tax department in August 2017.
DK Shivakumar won the elections in 2013 against PGR Sindhia of JDS with an estimate of 1,00,007 votes.
