Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) chief Omar Abdullah has reiterated that the state's assembly should be dissolved and has cited his scepticism over the BJP potentially engaging in horse-trading as the reason -- this after BJP leader Ram Madhav said that there was no question of his party horse-trading.

On Wednesday, in response to former J&K Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta saying that he didn't think that a new government would be formed anytime soon and that they (his party - BJP) were working on something, Omar Abdullah had Tweeted the following:

He added:

On Thursday, in response to Omar Abdullah, BJP's Ram Madhav said:

"Why is he (Omar Abdullah) so scared? I'm sure his party men are loyal to him. There is no question of horse-trading from our side. We've seen what kind of horse-trading happened in J&K under his party, no body should forget the history."

Citing this, Omar Abdullah has written:

"I have no doubt about my MLAs but we all know what happened in the PDP after Mufti Sb died & the sort of pressure that was applied to Mehbooba Mufti."

He added:

"Then why not dissolve the assembly? If @rammadhavbjp is true to his word that there is no question of horse trading & clearly no new alliances are being formed then the assembly should be dissolved. Keeping it suspended has encouraged dalals."

The back-and-forth and allegations of horse trading come after the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP government fell as a result of the latter party withdrawing support for the alliance. Governor's rule has been imposed in the state and advisors have been appointed to aid him.
