‘Facebook presents One India’ is a series which showcases stories of ordinary people coming together to impact the lives of many for the better.
It assesses how they encouraged and supported communities to find solutions, contain issues, and improve the lives of others.
Kabita Bhattarai, a lady who has dedicated her life to treating and rehabilitating leprosy patients, was featured as the first case study. Her NGO Little Flower located in Raxaul in Sunderpur, Bihar, takes care of 5000 leprosy-affected families living in 21 colonies. Kabita, and her support team runs not just a hospital but also provides accommodation to all, runs a school, and creates opportunities for the other family members to earn their livelihood by running a handloom unit and a diary. Here are excerpts of the episode that was broadcast on Republic TV a few weeks back.
