India's World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni led a spectacular yet ill-fated chase by the Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL on Sunday, and first among the many many people in the stadium who wanted to give him a hug was none other than his daughter Ziva!

In the video shared by MS Dhoni on social media, Ziva can be seen animatedly discussing how she wants to hug her father. Seeing him on the field, Ziva asks the people she's sitting with to take her to the CSK captain so she can hug him. The infant's adorable request leaves the person filming the video in splits, especially when she tells him to call her father. Very intelligently, Ziva appears to figure that nobody would stop the person as he's also wearing a CSK jersey.

Dhoni has captioned the video "When Ziva wanted to give a hug to papa during the match"

The post has left a trail of 'awwws' and 'so cute!' comments in its wake.

The Chennai Super Kings suffered their first defeat since returning to the IPL in Sunday, going down in Mohali in a thrilling encounter.

Batting first, Chris Gayle showed the IPL what it would have missed had he not been picked by rolling back the years with an explosive 63 off 33 balls, including seven fours and four sixes, which helped the Kings XI Punjab put up a total of 197.

Ambatti Rayadu scored 49 for CSK but it was Dhoni who proved to be the mainstay of the chase, hitting 79 off 44 balls including six fours and five sixes. With Mohit Sharma taking a wide line in the final over, Dhoni needed to hit 11 runs off the last two balls for a win. However, CSK fell four runs short in the end.

CSK will next host the Rajashan Royals on April 20.
