Indian sports stars storm ESPN's Global Fame 100 list by jumping from 4 entries to 11! Here's the list
With weeks to go before the World Cup, ESPN has published its annual World Fame 100 list of the world's most famous sportspersons. And this year, just as last year, Portugal and Real Madrid footballing icon Cristiano Ronaldo has found a place at the top of the list, beating NBA star LeBron James and footballers Lionel Messi and Neymar. Tennis legend Roger Federer completes the top-5.

With weeks to go before the World Cup, ESPN has published its annual World Fame 100 list of the world's most famous sportspersons. And this year, just as last year, Portugal and Real Madrid footballing icon Cristiano Ronaldo has found a place at the top of the list, beating NBA star LeBron James and footballers Lionel Messi and Neymar. Tennis legend Roger Federer completes the top-5.
Surprisingly, golfer Tiger Woods, who hasn't found anywhere near the level of success he had achieved before his fall from grace, is in 6th spot, while Team India skipper and Cricketer Virat Kohli is in 11th place, ahead of Tennis stars Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic.
In all, 11 Indian sportspersons have made the list, of which 9 are cricketers. In comparison, only 4 Indians had made the list in 2017.
