BREAKING | Swami Prasad Maurya Announces New Party At Delhi's Talkatora Stadium

While resigning from the Samajwadi Party, Maurya had claimed that he will make the annoucement in Delhi and will address a rally as well.

New Delhi: Former Samajwi Party leer Swami Pras Maurya launched his new political party on Thursday, February 22. Swami Prs Maurya has named his new party as Rashtriya Shoshit Samaaj Party (RSSP). anuncement was me in Delhi's Talkatora Stium. 

While resigning from Samajwi Party, Maurya h claimed that he will make anucement in Delhi and will dress a rally as well.

Who is Swami Pras Maurya? 

Swami Pras Maurya, a five-time MLA, is kwn for his derogatory remarks about Ramcharitmanas and Ayodhya temple consecration ceremony. He resigned from Samajwi Party on February 19, following which he also quit council seat. Maurya was a sitting member of state legislative council from Samajwi Party.

Maurya h joined Samajwi Party from BJP before 2022 polls and unsuccessfully contested assembly polls from Fazilnagar. 

Maurya h earlier switched from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to BJP and h served as a labour minister in Yogi ityanath-led government between 2017 and 2022.

Swami Pras Maurya Resigned from Samajwi Party

Swami Pras Maurya h resigned from post of Samajwi party national general secretary on February 13, accusing leership of discriminating against him and t defending him over his controversial statements on Ramcharitmanas and Ayodhya temple consecration ceremony.

Following which he resigned from membership of party. As he tendered his resignation from primary membership of party, Maurya h said that it w on Samajwi Party chief Akhilesh Yav to decide.

“I got an opportunity to work with you. But after our talks on February 12 and my resignation (as national general secretary) on February 13, initiative of any talks with me was taken due to which I am resigning from primary membership of party,” Maurya said in a letter to party chief Akhilesh Yav.

In a separate letter to chairman of Uttar Presh Legislative Council, Maurya said, “I was elected as a Samajwi Party member in legislative council. As I have resigned from primary membership of party, I am also resigning as MLC (member of legislative council) on basis of morality.”

Contention Between Maurya and Samajwi Party 

re have been several points of contention between Samajwi Party and Swami Pras Maurya. Apart from t defending him over his remarks, Maurya also claimed that ideology of socialism was t followed while minating candidates for upcoming Rajya Sabha polls. 

Maurya also questioned distribution of SP tickets for Rajya Sabha polls, scheduled to take place February 27, for which party has fielded Ramjilal Suman, Jaya Bachchan and Alok Ranjan, saying that party has t followed its own call for support to “PDA.” PDA is acronym given by SP chief Yav to refer to “Picchde, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak." 

He even questioned secular character of party, saying party held a “Shaligram puja” in its office.
