Jaipur: Congress party on Saturday suspended its former MLA from Rajasthan's Barmer Mewaram Jain, accused in a gang rape case, after two video clips, allegedly featuring him in an obscene act, surfaced on social media platforms.
viral video, showing former Congress MLA indulging in obscene acts, added a new twist to an old case involving a complex web of allegations of sexual abuse, sextortion, and blackmailing.

In a late-night statement, Rajathan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra said Jain had been suspended from party's primary membership 'in view of his immoral activities.'
In a case against former MLA and his close aide Ramswaroop Acharya, a woman lodged complaint last month that hey had been raping her for last few years, had also sexually assaulted her teenr daughter and mir friend, and had been forcing her to procure young girls for m.

She furr accused Jain and Ramswaroop, along with six ors, including a Rajasthan Police Service officer, of trapping her in a fabricated case, leading to her harassment.
After video clips went viral on social media on Friday, BJP unleashed a scathing attack against Former CM Ashok Gehlot and state Congress unit.

Union minister Kailash Choudhary said protectors had become predators under previous government, which earned state dubious distinction of being leader in atrocities against women.
