The ED on Monday apprehended Yatin Yadav, accused as the mastermind behind the paper leak scandal associated with the JKSSB Sub Inspector Exam.
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jammu Office, on Monday apprehended Yatin Yadav, accused as the mastermind behind the paper leak scandal associated with the JKSSB Sub Inspector Exam held on March 27, 2022.
The arrest follows an intensive investigation initiated by the ED based on an FIR and Chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Jammu, against Yadav and several other accomplices. According to ED sources, Yadav orchestrated a meticulously planned operation involving various touts across Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir. His modus operandi reportedly revolved around recruiting candidates willing to pay substantial sums ranging from Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh in exchange for access to the leaked examination papers.
Payments from the aspiring candidates were allegedly collected post-examination, primarily through cash transactions or routed via bank accounts linked to Yadav. Earlier interventions by the ED had led to the attachment of movable assets, including significant bank balances amounting to approximately Rs. 1 crore, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
An ED spokesperson highlighted that investigations into the case are ongoing, with efforts aimed at unraveling the full extent of the conspiracy and identifying all involved parties.
