  • BJP leader Tom Vadakkan has said that the current BJP establishment functioned at an efficiency seen only during the Indus Valley civilization times
  • He also added that in comparison to BJP's effective co-ordination in campaigning, the Opposition fell far behind

Drawing comparisons between the current efficient leadership by BJP president Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi to that of India's ancient Indus Valley Civilization, BJP spokesperson Tom Vadakkan, on Sunday said that the current BJP establishment functioned at an efficiency seen only during the Indus Valley civilization times, while participating in The Sunday Debate with Arnab Goswami on Republic TV.

"The pragmatism of the present administration led by the Prime Minister is indicative of a very pragmatic human being-led BJP. I can tell you honestly when I compare the present establishment - it is the Indus Valley civilization which was so advanced which comes at par and now, it is shocking to see the kind of messaging, networking happening in the BJP," he said.

Attacking the Opposition for its disarray in leadership and its contradictory statements, he added that in comparison to BJP's effective co-ordination in campaigning, the Opposition fell far behind.

"Compared to that on the other side, there is no discussion, the department has no meetings. Somebody says something and there is a press conference in the evening denying it, rushing in the Congress President."

Vadakkan was referring to Congress member Rajeev Shukla's revelation that it was indeed the party president who had decided to not field Priyanka Gandhi from Varanasi in stark contrast to Congress aide and  Chairman of the Overseas Indian National Congress, Sam Pitroda who said on Friday, it was she (Vadra) who had chosen to not contest in Varanasi as that the Congress president had left the decision on the matter on her.

This sentiment of cohesion in the BJP's campaign was the central theme of the debate which aimed at answering whether the 2019 general elections have become a #ModiWaveElection?

Republic TV's coverage from on the ground in Varanasi on April 24-25 has strongly indicated the presence of a Modi Wave, with the election-mode BJP it moving like an army and the Prime Minister's road-show witnessing unparalleled enthusiasm of the local electorate. Be it the Prime Minister amassing all his allies in Varanasi for his nomination to a thundering rally at Mumbai at the end of the day, the Sunday Debate focused on whether or not a 'Modi wave' has arisen anew.

This Is How PM Modi Thanked All The NDA Leaders For Their Massive Show Of Solidarity At His Nomination-filing In Varanasi

Kickstarting his nomination process, earlier on Thursday, PM Modi had conducted a mega roadshow which started at 5:15 PM with the garlanding of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) founder Madan Mohan Malaviya's statue. Travelling with a massive entourage, the Prime Minister passed through a sea of supporters (approximately 6 lakh people) thronging to see him and progressed on his 7 km long roadshow from the Malaviya statue to the Dashashwamedha Ghat.

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination papers for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat accompanied by a galaxy of top BJP and NDA leaders in what was a massive show of strength for the country's ruling alliance.
