Kawasaki has decided to woo its potential customers for a short while. The news of Kawasaki reducing the price of its new ZX-10R and the ZX-10RR by a whopping Rs 6 lakhs would echo in the ears of all the buyers who might be interested, but only till July end.

The ZX-10R and the ZX-10RR haves witnessed a price fall of Rs 6 lakh and Rs 5.8 lakh respectively costing Rs 12.8 lakh for the ZX-10R and Rs 16.10 lakh for the ZX-10RR.

Existing models of both the bikes that used to enter the markets as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) will now come as a (Semi-Knocked down) and will be manufactured at the Chakan plant in Pune.

The announcement has taken two wheeler enthusiasts in the country by surprise. However, there is only a specific number of bikes that would be allotted for the offer.

The new ZX-10R comes with a KRT edition with a few updated graphics, however, the ZX-10RR will be available in the same all-black colour scheme. Apart from the minute cosmetic changes, the mechanics of the bike has been retained.

The bike will have the same 998cc engine which would gallop the bike with 197 horses and 113.5 Nm of torque. The plethora of electronics that makes a beast both on the track, as well as the road, includes the three power modes, launch control, ABS, five level of traction control, a quick shifter, a Bosch internal measuring unit and Kawasaki's corner management function (KCMF).

The higher price on the ZX-10RR accounts for the KQS quick-shifter, carbon-coated tappets, a stronger crankcase, better aerodynamics compared to the ZX-10R. The bike also has a seven-spoke multidirectional forged aluminum wheels with a Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.

With the new price tag, the bike is ready to take on the Honda CBR1000RR  which is priced at Rs 14.78 lakh. 

The CBR 1000RR sports a 999cc engine that puts out 190 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. The bike sports a plethora of electronic abilities including a nine-level adjustable traction control, a Bosch ABS system, rear lift control and wheelie control, with the feedback coming from a five-axis IMU. There are three riding modes – Track, Winding, and Street.
