Bentley has launched its new premium SUV Bentayga, with a V8 twin turbo engine costing Rs 3.78 crore (Ex-showroom Delhi). Targeting everyone who thought the W12 was too much for an SUV, the Bentley has launched its latest creation with four fewer cylinders.

The fall in the number of cylinders, however, has not compromised its viciousness, with the heart of the car distributing a power of 549 hp and a torque of 770 Nm to all the four wheels. Trending on the automobile industry is luxury cars coming up with their own high seated creations, the W12 engine provided by the Bentley was a bit of an extrvaganza for many drivers.

The classic Bentley-finished model sits on two pairs of standard wheels of 21-inch, with an option of 20 as well as 22-inch wheel. The car will come to an absolute zero with the help of  440mm discs at the front and 370 mm units at the rear.

Cosmetically the new Bentley sports the same looks as the W12. The interior will have the pre-existing modern tailored seats with wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel and high-gloss carbon fibre finish on the dash and other interior panels as new additions

.The Lamborghini Urus that was launched earlier this year and Lexus’ flagship model LX 570 along with the soon-to-arrive Rolls Royce Cullinan, will pose as major rivals for Bentayga. Keeping in mind, the idea of ‘SUV that you need’ the British manufacturer claims that the new model will have the most efficient engine with a fuel mileage of 10 km pl. All thanks to the cylinder deactivation technology which cuts off four out of the eight cylinders at low speeds.

The V8 version of Bentayga sports a vast difference in its price tag from its elder sibling with a W12. The new version with the smaller engine costs Rs 37 lakh less than the W12. The V8 will lock horns with the soon-to-be-launched 2018 Range Rover SV Autobiography facelift, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which will also be launched in India later in 2018. This comes amid the high expectation in the SUV segment after Rolls-Royce announced its much-awaited entry with the Cullinan.
