Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023 of PM Modi govt 2.0 ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections on Wednesday and listed the various missions and motives taken up by the government for the new fiscal.


Welcoming the new budget, leaders have expressed their views.

'Amrit Kaal budget will build foundation for developed India', says Prime Minister


Exuding confidence Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "First budget of Amrit Kaal will build a strong foundation for building a developed India. This budget will fulfill dreams of aspirational society including poor people, middle-class people, and farmers."

'Budget focuses on growth and welfare', says Raksha Mantri


Taking to Twitter, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh wrote, "The Union Budget for 2023-24 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is focused on growth and welfare, with a priority to provide support to farmers, women, marginalised sections and the middle class."


He added, "By creating jobs through investments in infrastructure projects paired with increased spending on agriculture, housing, healthcare and manufacturing sectors will help create more opportunities for everyone and help in driving economic growth further ahead!"


"The Budget demonstrates the government’s commitment towards supporting growth and welfare oriented policies that will benefit all sections of society including small businesses owners, farmers, and professionals alike", he remarked.


He continued, "The increase in Income Tax exemption limit to Rs 7 lakhs and several other tax related reforms will provide a huge relief to middle class including salaried individuals and retired people. I congratulate the Finance Minister and thank Pradhan Mantri ji for taking this people friendly decision."

Union MoS lauds new Budget


Union MoS for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar lauded Union Budget and said, "Focus was made on technology, health sector, sickle cell and its need for treatment. Development of ICMR labs and new tech has also been focused upon. All sectors are taken into consideration in the Union Budget 2023."

Haryana CM welcomes new Budget


Welcoming the new Budget, Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar said, "It was a revolutionary budget that will give relief to every section of society. New income-tax rates give relief to individuals. The outlay for PM Awaas Yojana has been enhanced by 66 percent in this budget, I welcome this."

'In new Budget, respect for women increased', says Smriti Irani


Union Minister Smriti Irani said, "I'd like to extend gratitude to PM Modi. I won't look at the Budget minutely. Going by today's pronouncements, I believe that in the budget, respect for women increased. I also welcome the announcement of National Digital Library for children and adolescents."


She added, "I express gratitude to the FM that she presented a new option for Savings, in honour of women. Today's budget reflected how 'Nari Shakti' can build an empowered nation."

BJP MP Tejashvi Surya thanks PM Modi and Finance Minister for irrigation project


BJP MP Tejashvi Surya said, "I want to thank PM Modi and FM Sitharaman for the announcement of the over Rs 5,000 cr irrigation project for the Upper Bhadra region of Karnataka. This project will be a game changer for the state."
