MG Motor Reports 9% YoY Sales Growth; To Launch Astor Black Edition

MG Motor is gearing up and building further on the current momentum in the festive season.

MG Motor sales data: MG Motor India recorded a 9 per cent year-on-year rise in retail sales to 4,185 units in August. The automaker sold 3,823 units in August 2022. The carmaker is gearing up and building further on the current momentum in the festive season, MG Motor India said in a statement. The company is preparing the introduction of the Black Edition of its midsize SUV Astor, it added.

MG Astor comes in a price range of Rs 10.82 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The Astor offers a variety of trims, including Style, Super, Smart, Sharp, and Savvy. Additionally, each trim has an EX variant, albeit with fewer safety features. Buyers can choose from five distinct colours for the Astor: spiced orange, Aurora silver, glaze red, candy white, and starry black. The vehicle has a seating capacity of up to five passengers.

The Astor has two petrol engine options - a 1.3-litre turbocharged unit delivering 140 PS of power and 220 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated mill that produces 110 PS and 144 Nm. The 1.3-litre engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.5-litre engine offers both 6-speed manual and CVT options.

The Astor comes equipped with an array of features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof.

When it comes to safety, the Astor has up to six airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping/departure assist, high-beam assist, and blind-spot detection. The vehicle also features a 360-degree camera and an electronic stability programme (ESP).
