Mumbai-based consumer electronics, DTH and petroleum conglomerate Videocon has issued a formal statement to address 'rumours' that it had been the subject of a raid.

Here's Videocon's statement:

"Videocon categorically asserts that the rumor about raids at Videocon’s offices is false and incorrect. No such incident has taken place. We categorically state that Videocon has not taken any loans through fraudulent means. We also confirm that our Chairman, Mr. Venugopal Dhoot is in the country. Videocon has always stood for our country’s development and growth, and we fully abide by the laws of the land.We are taking steps to zero in on the source which started this mischievous and malicious rumor. We request the public to reject this fake news being circulated on digital media."
