Tamil Nadu has an ambitious goal of 18% growth every year until 2030: Goyal
Minister Goyal highlighted that basic needs of young population have been met through various welfare initiatives.
Tamil Nadu investors meet: Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal emphasised that to achieve Tamil Nadu's goal of a $1 trillion economy by 2030, the state has to ensure the ambitious aim of 18 per cent Year-on-Year growth while addressing the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024. He stressed that this goal aligns with India's larger aspiration for comprehensive nationwide growth.
He also shared that the youthful demographic strength of the country, representing a powerful demographic dividend, fuels aspirations towards a 'developed nation' by 2047.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance, Goyal reiterated the PM's vision that the nation's progress lies in the collective advancement of its regions. This, he affirmed, would stimulate industrialization, create jobs, and offer opportunities for the country's burgeoning youth.
Goyal underscored the collaborative efforts between the central government and Tamil Nadu, emphasising their joint initiatives for rapid industrialisation, welfare delivery, and sustainable growth in the state. Recent national projects worth over Rs 20,000 crore inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Tamil Nadu encompass various sectors like rail, road, oil, gas, and shipping.
In light of recent heavy rains causing loss of life and property in Tamil Nadu, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences and assured the central government's unwavering support for the affected populace. This emphasis on regional cooperation and support reflects the critical role of unified efforts in India's journey towards collective progress and development.
