IIT Patna records 100% placement in B.Tech, M.Tech in CSE, highest package is Rs 82 lakh

In the 12th placement season of the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, students have received record job offers. Around 162 national and international companies belonging to IT/Software, Finance & Banking, Analytics & Consulting, Core Engineering, E-Commerce, Health Care, Manufacturing, Automobile, etc. participated in the placement process for the recruitment of the 2023 batch of students and made impressive 413 job offers. This is the second consecutive academic session in which IIT Patna students have received over 400 job offers. Among international recruiters this year, Accenture Japan, Rakuten Japan, and Denso Corporation made 23 international offers, a 130 % rise from last year.

Speaking about the phenomenal placement record of IIT Patna, Dr. Ashwini Assam, Professor-In-charge of the Training, and Placement Cell at IIT Patna said, “The excellent placements are a testimony to the robust academic environment, industry-oriented research, and our pragmatic approach towards innovation. IIT Patna's average pay package is 23 lakh p.a

The average pay package offered to B.Tech students in the year 2023 was 23.09 Lakh per annum, while the maximum package was 82.05 Lakh per annum. Similarly, the average pay package of MTech students who graduated in the year 2003 was 17.50 lakh per annum and the maximum package was 46.38 lakh per annum.

Out of 413 offers, 13 job offers were with a pay package of more than 50 lakhs, 30 job offers were with a pay package of more than 40 lakhs and 95 job offers were with a pay package of more than 30 lakhs.

100% placement in B.Tech Computer Science 

In terms of placement percentage of the 2023 batch, B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering recorded 100.00%, Metallurgy & Materials Engineering 94.44%, Electrical Engineering 89.19%, Mechanical Engineering 88.46%, Civil Engineering 87.10% and Chemical Engineering 84.21%. The overall placement percentage of B.Tech has been 91.26%.

Similarly, MTech Computer Science & Engineering, Mechatronics, VLSI/Embedded Systems, and Metallurgy & Materials Engineering achieved 100% placements and other streams have also performed well in terms of placement percentage. Overall, 84.51 % of placements have been done in the M Tech of the 2023 batch.

The recruiting companies belonging to information technology/software domain topped the list with a share of 37%, followed by education 10%, analytics/consulting 9%, edutech 7%, fintech 7%, core 7%, Fintech accounted for 7%, research and development 4%, e-commerce 4%, manufacturing 3% and others 7%. In this session, 30 start-ups also registered their presence in the institute for campus placements and selected talented students for full-time jobs.

Kripa Shankar Singh, Training and Placement Officer, informed that IIT Patna has witnessed a significant increase in placements over the years, with its graduates receiving lucrative job offers from top companies in India and abroad. The institute has registered an increase in the number of recruiters participating in the placement process, which reflects IIT Patna’s skilled professionals growing demand in the industry. Further, he said that in this session companies participated in the campus process in physical, virtual, and hybrid mode. IIT Patna through its Industry Outreach and Industry Connect programs is constantly striving to create industry-ready professionals so that the students have access to a variety of career opportunities.

In this academic calendar, more than 40 new companies from various domains, prominently John Deere, Aromatic, Jevis, Earthmate, Navi, Hubbler, Legato, Jungle Games, PI Industries, etc. participated in the campus recruitment process for the first time at IIT Patna.

Job Profile grabbed by the students include Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Application Engineer, Product Engineer, Data Scientist, Digital Consultant, Infrastructure Manager, Analyst, Machine Learning Engineer, Digital Engineer, Decision Analyst, Consulting Management Trainee, GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee), PGET, etc.

The list of top recruiters of the season includes Google, Oracle, Sprinklr, Atlassian, Media.net, Aarti Industries, Samsung, Texas Instrument, Adobe, Jaguar Land Rover, EXL etc. along with some important PSUs like C DOT, BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited) and CDAC (CDAC) have also recruited the students’ of 2023 batch.
