Lok Sabha Election Controversy: Arunachal Pradesh Church Council passes resolution to support NPP candidate, RSS-affiliated observatory to approach Election Commission

Arunachal Pradesh Christian Revival Church Council (APCRCC) had issued an order in support of National People’s Party candidate Kyoda Apik.

In a massive election controversy surfacing from the eastern state, the Arunachal Pradesh Christian Revival Church Council (APCRCC) had issued an order in support of National People’s Party candidate Kyoda Apik who will contest for the West parliamentary seat. The order urges the APCRCC, entire Christian community and all the concerned district Councils to support in favour of Mr. Kyoda Apik.

The letter reads:

In Pursuance of the ACP, a resolution to support Mr. Kyoda Apik as Lok Sabha candidate in the coming Lok Sabha election West parliamentary constituency 2019, which was also consented and attended by the leader of APCRCC. So, on the basis of the resolution passed earlier, the APCRCC along with rest of the Christian communities is hereby requesting all the concerned district Councils to support in favour of Mr. Kyoda Apik, who is contesting candidature west parliamentary, in prayers as well as in all possible helps with this motto of clean elections. 

In response to the newsbreak, RSS-affiliated legal rights obersvatory will move Election Commission against the Arunachal Church favouring a Lok Sabha candidate.

Earlier, the National People’s Party announced its list for Lok Sabha elections. The party fielded Kyoda Apik, a cardamom farmer by profession and religious activist for the West parliamentary seat. Party president G Kabak in a statement said that it would not contest for the East parliamentary seat.

Arunachal Pradesh has a total number of 2 Lok Sabha Constituencies and hence the state gives 2 seats for the Parliament. While one of this small states of India is waiting eagerly to vote for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Election Commission of India has announced that the state will take elections in a single phase on April 11, 2019 when the country will see the first phase of polling.
