In a shocking incident, sitting NPP MLA Tirong Aboh from Arunachal Pradesh's Khonsa West assembly constituency was killed. on Tuesday, May 21. As per sources, he was killed by terrorists near Bogapani area of Tirap district in the state. Sources also informed that 6 others have also been killed in the ambush. The terrorist group National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) claimed responsibility for the incident, reports said. Aboh also contested the Lok Sabha elections from on NPP ticket.
Chief Minister of Meghalaya and NPP chief Conrad Sangma took to Twitter to condemn the attack and said that he and the entire party is extremely shocked and saddened by the news of the death. he also added that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh should take responsibility for such brutal attacks.
Aboh's PSO is also in critical condition at the time of publishing the article and has been rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Union State Home Affairs Minister and BJP Arunachal West candidate Kiren Rijiju also said that he is shocked by this brutal attack and ensured that the strongest action will be taken against those responsible for such attack.
