The 'chaiwala' attack has re-emerged, this time, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal has attacked the Prime Minister's origins on Saturday saying that PM Modi should go and sell tea and pakodas.

"All the Opposition alliances against Modi of which we are a part will remove him out of this country. He will then go somewhere and open a tea stall and will sell pakodas too," said Ajmal to reporters.

The 'chaiwala' jibe was first coined by the Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections when he had attacked the then Gujarat CM saying Modi was welcome to set up a tea shop near All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters and serve it during AICC meetings. Following this, the BJP had launched the highly popular 'chai pe charcha' campaign, a spin-off from this highly controversial statement.

In the same tone of the Congress Leader, his ally AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal too has made a 'chaiwala' jibe. On Wednesday he had said that Congress had betrayed their alliance by fielding candidates against his party nominees in Assam's Dhubri, Barpeta and Karimganj constituency.

"The sole motto of the Congress is to finish the AIUDF. The Muslim leadership of the Congress did not want the AIUDF and the Congress to get united at all. If that happened, their political future would have been finished," said Ajmal in an interview to PTI.

He was previously caught on camera hurling abuses, attacking and threatening a journalist when asked if he will join the 'Mahagathbandhan' in Mankachar, Assam on December 2018. Following this shocking attack, a day later, he had also attacked the BJP in the Lok Sabha while discussing the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill, 2018  saying 'Triple talaq is not a big issue'.

AIUDF is set to contest against both Congress and BJP in the Assam Lok Sabha Elections, while being a part of the Opposition alliance in the Centre. Assam will vote in three phases on April 11,18 and 23 in the Lok Sabha polls. The results are scheduled o be announced on May 23.
