Amid Congress' power tussle, to-be-extradited Vijay Mallya congratulates Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia

Two days after the declaration of the assembly elections 2018 results which showed Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party emerging victorious in three of the five states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the party chief is struggling to decide the final name for the face of the Chief Minister in the states.

Amid the power-tussle between young party leaders Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia and senior, experienced members Ashok Gehlot and Kamal Nath for the post of Chief Ministers in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, fugitive business tycoon Vijay Mallya, who is still in London, has entered into race.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Vijay Mallya posted a one-liner congratulatory message for Sachin Pilot and Jyotiraditya Scindia, calling them 'young champions'. Take a look:

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Congress president Rahul Gandhi who is expected to announce the names of the Chief Ministers between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan and Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh. All party leaders with UPA chief Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi attended a meeting with the party chief at his New Delhi residence on Thursday.

However, even after the meeting, Congress leaders did not come to a consensus on the decision. Adding heat to the dilemma, Sachin Pilot's supporters staged huge protests in Rajasthan's Dausa district blocking the roads and highways against the appointment of Ashok Gehlot as the CM in the state.

Speaking about fugitive liqour baron Vijay Mallya who has been accused of defrauding Indian banks to a tune of Rs 9000 crore, UK's Westminster Magistrates' Court, on December 10 ordered his extradition to India, which is seen as a huge victory for the Indian government in their efforts to bring back the fugitive economic offenders.
