Spinning the reason of BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan's 'lantern march', RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, May 3, former deputy CM of Bihar Yadav said that while the PM and Bihar CM are reiterating that 'lantern has extinguished', their party member and Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Chouhan is holding a lantern, that is the poll-symbol of Lalu Yadav's party RJD.

He wrote: " Shri Narendra Modi ji comes to Bihar and says Lantern has extinguished. In an era of missile, the 'paltu chacha' is saying the era of lantern is gone, but former CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Chouhan is showing them that lantern is still lit. He said the lantern gathbandhan in Bihar will win with huge margin."

Yadav, however, did not mention the reason why former Madhya Pradesh CM was holding a lantern. On Sunday, BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a 'lantern march' in Bhopal along with other party leaders and supporters. The rally was to target the ruling Kamal Nath government and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh over the issue of shortage of electricity in the state.

Yadav was referring to the veiled attack by PM Modi on RJD saying:

"These lalten (lantern) wallahs too could have brought electricity to the homes of the people while they were in power. But they were busy lighting up their own clan. Somebody was building a farm house, somebody was constructing a mall, somebody making money through railway tenders."

Bihar CM, too made a similar attack saying: "We have succeeded in bringing electricity to every corner of the state. This has made the lantern redundant."
