Days ahead of Lok Sabha polls 2019, polls strategist-turned-politician and JD(U)'s newly appointed vice president, Prashant Kishor on Friday made a big statement, putting an end to speculations on his candidature in the ensuing elections. Saying that his role will only be 'to learn and cooperate' with the senior leadership of the party, Kishor added that the responsibilities of poll campaigning will be on senior party leader Ramchandra Prasad Singh.

Taking to Twitter, Prashant Kishor posted a statement announcing the same:

“In Bihar, NDA is fighting the election strongly under the leadership of PM Modi and Nitishji (CM Nitish Kumar) On behalf of JD(U), the responsibilities of poll management and campaign are on the broad shoulders of senior and experienced leader RCP Singh. In this initial stage of my political career, my role is to learn and to cooperate," Kishor tweeted in Hindi.

Kishor had been made part of a three-member team - also comprising party general secretary and chief spokesman K C Tyagi - for exploring possibilities of the JD(U)'s expansion beyond Bihar.

Furthermore, his name figures in the list of 'star campaigners' in the state for the first phase of the election.

Speaking in an exclusiver interview to Republic TV, Prashant Kishor said that it would be the NDA that comes to power after the Lok Sabha elections 2019 and that it would be Narendra Modi who will re-emerge Prime Minister.

Days after being inducted into JD(U), Prashant Kishor said that his current work is geared towards changing the political atmosphere by making more youth join politics.

“Kishor has been given the task of attracting young talent from various social segments to politics. The aim behind was to make politics accessible for those who do not belong to political families,” said Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

Nitish Kumar had resigned in July, 2017 from the post of chief minister, disapproving of the corruption cases lodged against his then deputy CM and RJD leader Lalu Yadav's younger son Tejashwi Yadav. Within less than 24 hours, however, he formed a new government with the BJP - his old ally with which he had snapped ties in 2013. Incidentally, Kishor was also hired as a poll strategist by Nitish Kumar for 2015 assembly elections in favour of Mahagathbandhan.
