While addressing  a rally in Samastipur, Bihar, Rashtriya janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, on Friday, has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for favouring the rich. He also added that a prime minister who worked for the poor is needed, like Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

(We don't need a Prime Minister who favours the rich, we need a prime Minister like Rahul Gandhi, who talks about the poor)

Supporting the Congress' NYAY yojana (Nyuntam Aay Yojana) which guarantees a minimum income for the bottom 20% of the population, by giving Rs.6,000 every month to 5 crore families i.e 25 crore people, Yadav said that the Gathbandhan government (Congress-RJD) will give the people of Bihar, social as well as economic justice.

"Under the Nyay scheme, every family will earn a minimum of Rs.12,000 per month. This will benefit poor throughout India but mainly the people of Bihar. Look at the difference between Rahul Gandhi and Modiji's promises. Within three days of forming government in three states (Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhatisgarh) he waived the loans of all farmers." he added.

He also slammed PM Modi for not meeting the farmers who were protesting in Delhi, saying that he had time to attend Priyanka Chopra's wedding instead.

"We don't want a Prime Minister who lies. Did you know that the farmers crawled on their knees to meet the Prime Minister, who beat them up. He did not have the time to meet the farmers, but he definitely had the time to attend Priyanka Chopra's wedding and wish her,"he said.

RJD ally and Congress president Rahul Gandhi too was present at the Samastipur rally where the battle is between Congress candidate Dr. Ashok Ram and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate Ram Chandra Paswan.

In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ram Chandra Paswan, who got 2,70,401 (31.33 per cent) votes, had defeated Ashok Kumar of the Congress, who secured 2,63,529 (30.53 per cent) votes. But the surprising twist in the constituency was that None of the Above (NOTA) option had earned around 30,000 votes.

The voting for Bihar’s  40 Parliamentary seats will be conducted in seven phases starting from April 11. The last phase of elections will be held on May 19. The declaration of the results on May 23.
