Protests erupted in Bihar's Begusarai against CPI's candidate Kanhaiya Kumar.
The protests were instigated after his supporters thrashed people who wanted to question Kumar, following which black flags were shown to the CPI leader.
It was reported that protesters escaped the location from his supporters, following the visuals that showed the clashes between the two groups.
Republic TV reported a similar situation wherein locals in the region gheraoed Kanhaiya Kumar's cavalcade in Begusarai and demanded answers to their questions on April 17.
Seeking answers to 'what kind of Azaadi (freedom) he is demanding', the locals slammed the CPI candidate for Begusarai polls over "Bharat ke Tukde Tukde" slogans that he had raised in JNU during the 2016 protest.
The visuals show people stopping Kanhaiya's car and gheraoing his convoy, after which the locals are asking him questions. Kanhaiya Kumar stunned by what happened had no answers to the questions of the public.
"What kind of freedom do you want? The poor don't want Azaadi (freedom). It is good that you wanted to become a politician but you need to give answers. Why were you opposed to reservation to economically backward class? You said "Bharat tere Tukde Tukde honge", it will help you," locals can be heard saying in the video.
Earlier in April, former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar filed his nomination from Bihar's Begusarai Lok Sabha seat on CPI ticket on Tuesday.
Recently, Kanhaiya Kumar carried out an election rally during which she was joined by Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker who also made her first electoral speech which campaigning for the CPI leader.
