BJP leader and Union Minister Ashwini Choubey raked massive controversy after he abused and threatened an Election Commission (EC) officer on duty after being informed that he was violating the Model Code of Conduct.

The incident took place from Buxar district in Bihar, the constituency from which the BJP leader will be contesting the upcoming elections. His convoy allegedly had more cars than the permissible limit, and hence, the EC official stopped him and informed about the MCC violation.

A visibly furious Choubey got down from his car and started shouting at the officer, even as the latter kept his calm and raised his point. Despite the EC official informing him about the violation, the BJP leader continued his rant.

Here's how the whole incident panned out:

Ashwini Choubey, Union Minister: What are you saying? Say it. Whose mother**** is this that they'll stop us. Beware. Whose office is this? Don't argue.

EC officer: There are instructions. We are just following those instructions.

Ashwini Choubey, Union Minister: Whose instruction?

EC officer: Election Commission's order

Ashwini Choubey, Union Minister: (opens car's gate and comes out) Let's go

EC officer: A good thing. We are seizing the cars not detaining you

Ashwini Choubey, Union Minister: This is my vehicle, you can't seize it. Get off. Move ahead. Move forward.

After the confrontation between Ashwini Choubey and the EC officer, the supporters of the BJP leaders started shouting his slogans and created ruckus, despite the Union Minister being at fault.

Following this, the EC officer spoke to media and iterated that there were 30-40 cars in the convoy, much above the permissible limit, and that an FIR will be filed in this regard.

"Permission for vehicles were not given but it was found that vehicles which were there, weren't part of the convoy. We have done a videography and primary investigations are underway. The vehicles which were there in the convoy, it has been found that there were up to 30-40 vehicles. An FIR will be lodged. What language the MP has used, it's his concern. We are doing our duty. Investigation will be carried out on all the vehicles that were there in the convoy," he added.
