With the countdown underway until the country undertakes the largest exercise in democracy anywhere in the world, the Republic Bharat-Jan Ki Baat opinion poll has projected a snapshot of where the various parties stand at the moment in different states.
The assembly elections in Chhattisgarh found Congress on the winning side, and a similar scenario is projected in the state, with a close-battle predicted between the two national parties- BJP and Congress.
In the state of 11 seats, Congress is predicted to garner 6-7 seats, while leaving 4-5 seats for BJP, making it a narrow battle.
As far as vote-share in concerned, Congress is predicted to get 46.4%, followed by BJP with 45.4%, Others stand at 6%, and Mayawati's BSP at 2% in the state.
In the wake of the massive loss in the recent assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, the BJP has decided to drop all its 10 sitting lawmakers from the state. BJP General Secretary Anil Jain confirmed that the saffron party has decided to face the Lok Sabha elections with 'new candidates with fresh energy' to make it victorious under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, Ajit Jogi's JCC announced that it will not be contesting the Lok Sabha elections but will be supporting BSP instead.
The 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh be voting in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23.
