The third phase of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections kicked off on Tuesday. The sports fraternity is coming forward with great enthusiasm and urging people to cast their votes.

Earlier, badminton sensation Jwala Gutta, Olympic medal winners PV Sindhu and Vijender Singh - who has now been fielded by the BJP - had taken the initiative of making the people aware of their right to vote by on social media. Sportspersons-turned politicians Mohammad Azharuddin and Bhaichung Bhutia had also posted their pictures after having cast their votes.

One of India's most dependable batsman in Test Cricket Cheteshwar Pujara cast his vote along with his wife Puja and father Arvind in Rajkot. After casting his vote with his family, the veteran batsman took to social media and urged everyone to be responsible citizens of this democratic country and cast their votes as the future of this country is in their fingertips.

 Earlier, Jwala Gutta had posted a video on Twitter urging the citizens to vote for a bright future after she had cast her vote along with her family. 

Tennis icon Sania Mirza had made people aware of their rights by urging them to go out and vote.

Former Indian captain and head coach Anil Kumble also took the initiative of asking the citizens whether they had voted after the spin legend had cast his vote with his wife Chethana.

With 15 states, 117 seats and 1640 candidates in the fray, the states that will go to polls on Tuesday are- 

Assam (4), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Gujarat (26), Goa (2), Jammu and Kashmir (1), Karnataka (20), Maharashtra (14), Odisha (6), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (5), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1), Daman and Diu (1)
