BJP chief Amit Shah on Friday addressed the NDA mega-rally from his political home-turf of Gandhinagar in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
He gave the speech in presence of tall NDA leaders such as Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan.
During his speech, he remembered LK Advani who had represented the Gandhinagar seat. He said that he had the good fortune of contesting from Gandhinagar which has been previously represented by the likes of Advani and Atal Bihar Vajpayee.
"I am blessed to have been asked to contest from a seat where Atal ji, Advani ji have represented... The Gandhinagar seat is one of the most important in the country. I will strive to take forward Advani ji's legacy."
Evoking chants of 'Phir ek baar Modi sarkar', he also spoke about why PM Modi is the only leader to head the nation.
"How a person who did not even fight local body polls become the darling of the nation. Only one party can assure the security to the nation - the BJP under the leadership of Modi.
"These elections are going to be fought on only one issue: Who will lead the country? When I ask this question, from all corners of India, there's only one answer - 'Modi'. I appeal to Gujarat to give all 26 seats to him and allow us to improve the stature of the state," he said.
