Congress Party's controversial leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has made headlines after he addressed an election rally in Ahmedabad. Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making poor people do yoga with empty stomach.

“Arrey Narendra Modi yeh rashtrabhakti hai tumhari ki pet khali hai aur yoga karaya ja raha hai, Baba Ramdev hi bana do sabko. Pet khali hai yoga karaya ja raha hai aur jeb khali hai khaata khulvaya ja raha hai,” Sidhi said while commenting on Modi’s patriotism.

(Narendra Modi is this your patriortism that you are making people perform yoga empty stomach, make everyone Baba Ramdev. Yoga when your stomach is empty and open an account when your pocket is empty)

Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu had stoked another controversy by making a communal appeal to Muslim voters, urging them to vote for Congress in order to defeat PM Narendra Modi. He was addressing a rally in Bihar’s Katihar Lok Sabha constituency. 

While trying to justify his comment, the leader said:

"Was not trying to divide anyone. Was only saying that Muslims need to unite against PM Modi who doesn't have their best interests at heart. I have not received any notice from Election Commission" .
