As the counting of votes is underway in the Nation for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections for the 542 seats in the 29 states and 7 Union Territories, and with the BJP looking set for victory by leading on as many as 300 seats, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has conceded defeat praised the victors.

Addressing a media briefing shortly after issuing a tweet praising PM Modi and Amit Shah's election campaign, Omar Abdullah lashed out at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi saying that it was because of him that the entire opposition is suffering.

"I did not want my words to come true. But it seemed as if I was clapping alone, but there is a saying you can snap with one hand, but cannot clap. Nothing will change in 5 years, Modi Sahab will lead. We just hope Modi Sahab will lead by taking everyone together. Who can say what would have happened if Balakot would not have happened? We can discuss on a lot of things, whether Chowkidar Chor Hai slogan was right or Rafale was right or not," he said.

Expressing confidence on Farooq Abdullah and Hasnanin Masoodi who are leading from Srinagar and Anantnag constituency, he said our team will defend Article 350 and 35-A for the valley. He also added that the country belongs to all of us and he hoped that Narendra Modi will take everyone together during his upcoming tenure.

Earlier, when the exit polls predicted that NDA-led by Narendra Modi will cross the 300-mark and will register a massive victory first time in the Indian political history, Abdullah took to Twitter and said that its time to wait for the results.
