Celebrating BJP's historic win and the re-election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the NDA leads in 350 seats as per EC reports on 8:20 PM, BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday made a jibe targetted at the 21 Opposition parties who had raised EVM concerns post exit-polls were released on Sunday, saying if that their attempts to spread fear among the people were unsuccessful as the exit polls have been proven right.
"When exit polls were released, some people could not digest the disappointment. I am surprised at the 21 dynast parties who had created havoc in Delhi after it. Roaming around the capital each one met another. They felt that those exit polls were false and that claiming that malfunction in EVMs, they could spread fear in the public. And today when the mandate was declared, the BJP won with higher numbers than the predicted exit polls," he said.
Specifically targetted the 'Opposition Unifier' TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for attempting to revive the 'gathbandhan' during the end of the election season, he advised that if he had put more efforts into his own campaign, at least he would have won a seat.
"These 21 dynast parties who roamed Delhi, I wish to advice one thing - especially to Chandrababu Naidu. If you had put in this much efforts in acquiring votes, then atleast your account would have opened," he added.
Earlier in the day, reports had emerged that failing to win a single seat in the Andhra Pradesh state Assembly polls, Naidu had resigned as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
Apart from commenting on Chandrababu Naidu, Shah also gave the example of Uttar Pradesh where EC reports indicate that BJP is leading in 60 seats saying that the cast politics of the SP-BSP 'gathbandhan' and the dynasty politics of the Congress had also failed as the people's mandate had favoured the BJP.
He also congratulated the various state Assembly winners like YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, SKF chief and the BJP Arunachal CM for their respective wins.
He thanked the people for their faith in the BJP and attributed this win to PM Modi's work and popularity. As per EC reports, the BJP is currently leading in 300 seats on its own while the Congress is leading in 51 seats only.
