Taking a personal swipe at PM Modi, AAP spokesperson Sanjay Singh, on Monday, slammed PM Modi for his comment on late Rajiv Gandhi, calling Modi a 'drug-addict' and has demanded the Election Commission to investigate PM Modi for his drug-addled speech.

(To say such bad things about a deceased person can be done only by 'drug-addict' Modi. Election Commission should restrict the sale of marijuana and must investigate Modi as he is giving speeches under the influence of drugs.)

On Saturday, Prime Minister Modi while addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh commented on Rajiv Gandhi while speaking about the corruption under the Congress governments.

"Your father was termed 'Mr. Clean' by his courtiers, but his life ended as 'Bhrashtachari No 1' (corrupt number 1). By hurling abuses, you cannot turn the 50 long years of Modi's Tapasya (struggle) into dust. By tarnishing my image and by making me look small, these people want to form an unstable and a weak government in the country " PM Modi said.

Silent On Scorpene Deal, Rahul Gandhi Responds To PM Modi's Remark On Former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Here's What He Said

Reacting to this jibe against his late father, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi made a remark saying that PM Modi's 'karma awaits him'. Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said that 'the battle is over'. He added that revealing what he feels about his father will not protect him from the upcoming consequence.

On the other hand, Congress General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh East and Rahul's sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that Prime Minister insulted the 'martyrdom of a righteous man.'

"The Prime Minister is asking for votes in the name of martyrs, but he insulted the martyrdom of a righteous and holy man in his unbridled craze yesterday. The reply will be given by the people of Amethi for whom Rajiv Gandhi gave his life. Yes, Modiji this country never forgives those who deceive", Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on Twitter.

Apart from the Gandhis, many other Opposition leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Shatrughan Sinha among a few have condemned the Prime Ministers remarks, while BJP leaders like Arun Jaitley, Subramanian Swamy have rushed to the defence of PM Modi.
