After BSP Supremo Mayawati, RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav reiterates the casteist allegation on PM Modi, calls him 'fake OBC'

Just a day after BSP Supremo Mayawati made allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting votes in the name of backward castes, RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav reiterated the same allegation, calling him a fake OBC.

Taking to Twitter, he said:

"I had already said on April 20 that PM Modi is a fake OBC, I had already said that he will start calling himself an OBC, and yesterday he did the same. He called himself Dalit as well. No matter whatever you say, he was by birth an upper caste but to get votes he will say how many things?"

Ahead of PM Modi's Bihar visit on April 20, Yadav had tweeted that PM will call himself OBC after he enters Bihar.

He added: "Bihar expects lie and 'jumlas' from him. We hope that he will explain why his 2014 promises of giving Bihar a special status, special package and free education and medicine not fulfilled."

On Saturday, while addressing a press conference at BSP state office in Lucknow, BSP Supremo Mayawati said that PM Modi included his community in the OBC category for political gains.

Earlier on the same day, PM Modi during a rally in Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh made a statement about the ability or lack thereof of the coalition Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav to deal with terrorism and infiltration. He questioned the duo's capability of handling the issues saying that their individual governments in Uttar Pradesh could never even do anything about the gundas in the state. 

"The condition of Pakistan is such that it is shedding tears in front of the world. You tell me, shouldn't terrorism and naxalism be over? Shouldn't we be freed by the infiltrators? Can the work be done by our bua-babua? Don't respond to make me or the media happy? Their own government could not do anything about the gundas of the state," the Prime Minister said.

Uttar Pradesh is set to vote in the remaining four phases of elections. The Indian general election is currently being held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, and on the same day, the results will be declared.
