A complaint has been filed against Rahul Gandhi on the accusation of deliberately filling in wrong information in the Election Affidavit filed for the Uttar Pradesh's Amethi seat, who has further called the Congress president a 'compulsive liar'

On 5th April Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination for Wayanad and on 10th April he filed his nomination for the Amethi constituency and in his affidavit for the nomination papers, Rahul Gandhi has intricately mentioned about the cases pending against him.

The first case mentioned in the affidavit is the defamation case (Case no. 624/SS/2018) filed against the Congress president for defaming the RSS while speaking in reference to the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh. While answering to the question ‘Whether charges have been framed' in the affidavit under section 5(e), the Congress president responded saying 'no', moreover provided a caveat saying ‘the process has been issued but summons have not been received yet' from the case that is pending at the 25th Metropolitian Magistrate's Court in Mumbai.

On the contrary, the person who filed this complaint, stated that the summons in the defamation case had in fact reached Rahul Gandhi's Tughlak road residence in New Delhi.

On the basis on which, the complainant has written to the returning officer, requesting them to check into the discrepancies in Gandhi scion's affidavit.

The notice comes after the Congress president was served a contempt notice by the Supreme Court over his Rafale remarks.  The complainant making stern allegations has called Rahul Gandhi a 'compulsive liar' citing Rafale jet controversy.

He said, "Inspite of Supreme Court orders he has been going around India and making false claims and statements of wrongdoings in the purchase of the much needed Rafale fighter jets."

"The only purpose that comes to ones mind regarding the same is none other then to help enemy nations by weakening the Indian Defence System," he added.

Few days ago, a similar controversy was stoked by an independent candidate from the Amethi constituency who objected to the Congress president's nomination documents alleging discrepancies in them, over his citizenship, name, educational qualifications and UK properties. However, the Returning Officer Ram Manohar Mishra scrutinising his papers validated his seat.

His lawyer maintained that the objection to the Congress president's nomination is a 'political conspiracy'
