The Lok Sabha election 2019, held in seven phases to elect 543 MPs from 29 states and 7 Union Territories (UTs) and elect the next Prime Minister, concluded on May 19. Now, as the results of the general elections are finally set to be declared on May 23, veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher welcomed the 'future' of the country.

The actor who was seen actively campaigning for his wife BJP candidate Kirron Kher in Chandigarh ahead of the Lok Sabha polls took to Twitter on Wednesday night and shared a couple of posts to mark the counting day. Hailing how the country witnessed the maximum voter turnout 67. 10%, this year, Kher wrote, "Desh badal gaya hai."

Here's the post:

The actor in another consecutive post welcomed the decision of the nation and said, "Tomorrow is FUTURE."

Anupam Kher has been very vocal about his political opinions and has been the key campaigner of his wife former actress Kirron Kher, who has been contesting elections this year from Chandigarh. As the constituency witnessed election in the 7th phase of the Lok Sabha polls on May 19, Kher had shared an interesting GIF urging voters to exercise their rights.

Meanwhile, The 2019 elections saw high-octane electric campaigning from both sides as the BJP went hammer and tongs, expressing confidence at each turn that it would not only repeat but also better its tally of 282 votes from five years earlier, whereas the Congress and other Opposition parties,  also campaigned heavily though without being able to make any convincing show of unity. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a second term in the Parliament, addressed a total of 144 rallies and roadshows this election season, Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed 125 rallies in the 2019 polls.

The Republic Double Exit polls have predicted the BJP winning with majority support in the country.
