Following the tussle between Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu in Congress, with the latter giving statements against Captain, Haryana BJP minister Anil Vij took a jibe on Sidhu.

Taking to Twitter on Monday morning, he said that now that Sidhu has been snubbed by Congress, he has only one way - that is to join Imran Khan's party in Pakistan.

His comment comes in light of Sidhu's visit to Pakistan during the swearing-in event of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. Sidhu had defended his visit to Imran Khan's oath-taking ceremony stating "Agar koi na aata yaha to bura lagta.(Had nobody come, it would've looked bad)".

He had also said, "Main mohabbat ka paigam laya tha Hindustan se. Jitni mohabbat mai laya tha, usse zyada mai lekar jaa rahu. (I had brought a message of love from India. The love I brought with me, I am taking a lot more back). Love will unify us. Government has powers and they will unify us. Imran Khan has the power to change perception. Imran said 'you take one step and we will take two steps'. If Punjab borders will be open from both sides, then there will be much growth. I came here for friendship, not as a politician."

The controversy in his visit was when he met Pakistan's Army's chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, which he later defended saying: "Pakistan Army Chief hugged me and told 'we want peace'. It's my dream that we should unify. I will not forget this trip all of my life. We have same blood, same food, same culture. I am thankful to everyone that I got so much love and respect from Pakistan."

Later, Pakistan Prime Minister had told that Sidhu can win an election in Pakistan as well. In light of the same incident, BJP Haryana Minister Vij said that SIdhu after being snubbed by Congress and earlier by BJP, he should go and join Tehreek-e Insaf party in Pakistan.
