With counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections underway, NDA has stormed to victory in the 2019 general elections. Following the same, veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher who has been vocal about his political opinions recently opened up about the impending victory of the Bhartiya Janata Party.
Talking to Republic TV Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami in a recent interview, Kher said that NDA's victory in the 2019 general elections will storm upon the opposition.
When asked who he thinks will be affected the verdict, he said, "There’s no rocket science in this, Opposition will be hurt the most, the ‘Brahmastra’ has fallen on them. They have wasted entire 5 years figuring out how to defeat this one man whose vision is to move forward unitedly as a nation."
"The opposition had no vision of their own and were only burning with hatred. With this election, they will realize, that the country wants to progress towards development and nationalism. It wants to make the Indian defence forces stronger." the veteran star added.
The actor who was seen actively campaigning for his wife BJP candidate Kirron Kher in Chandigarh ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, further hailed PM Narendra Modi saying that he has given a vision to the citizens of India.
Talking about the same, he said, "The most important thing is, today people are realizing their own power. Certainly, they have voted for Modi ji, but in turn, Modi Ji and the government has made them realize their own power. When I was campaigning for Kirron in Chandigarh, I saw that in the masses. PM has given citizens the vision to uplift their own power."
"Whether it was so called Khan market gang or Lutyens' Delhi gang, or the people who used to present the situation very differently in front of the world, that 0.111 people got a lesson," he added.
"I am very proud to say that India has won today. The country this time has voted not for issues like caste and religion or poverty, only for prosperity. A strong leader has shown us that the country can be governed like this. They will have to come out of their slumber. The people who are acting as if sleep, they will have to wake up to make their own history," the actor concluded saying.
Anupam Kher has been the key campaigner of his wife former actress Kirron Kher, who has been contesting elections this year from Chandigarh. Kher, who was proud of campaigning for his wife, shared a number of pictures from his visit to Chandigarh calling it 'exciting'.
Meanwhile, The 2019 elections saw high-octane electric campaigning from both sides as the BJP went hammer and tongs, expressing confidence at each turn that it would not only repeat but also better its tally of 282 votes from five years earlier, whereas the Congress and other Opposition parties, also campaigned heavily though without being able to make any convincing show of unity. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a second term in the Parliament, addressed a total of 144 rallies and roadshows this election season, Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed 125 rallies in the 2019 polls.
Counting of votes for 542 Lok Sabha seats is underway and the latest trends show Bharatiya Janata Party leading the Lok Sabha polls.
