In the countdown to the third phase of the Parliamentary elections, Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami in an unrestrained interaction with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Republic Bharat spoke about the grand old Congress party, its president Rahul Gandhi and its current state.
When questioned on the dubiosity of Rahul Gandhi's citizenship and the following BJP's allegation, Fadnavis responded clarifying that, if objections are raised 'should we be doing bhajan.'
He said, "If there is something wrong with Rahul Gandhi's affidavit, somebody raised an objection against it. When the objection was raised, he (Rahul) could not respond, his lawyer asked for time, so should be do bhajan?"
Moreover, the Chief Minister expressed his 'pity' towards the Congress party president, and questioned the 'condition of the 100 year old party'
He said, "I feel pity for Rahul Gandhi, look at the condition. What is he saying? what is he doing? What is the condition? Where was this 100 year old party and today what condition has it come to?"
In a controversy against Rahul Gandhi's citizenship, his name, education qualifications and his UK property details snowballed on Saturday the BJP in a media address underlined the objections raised by an independent candidate of the Amethi constituency, Dhruv Lal.
In the aftermath of the citizenship controversy, BJP launched a scathing attack at the Congress president alleging that Rahul Gandhi is a 'pathological liar', who has been caught lying to the Election Commission.
"False declarations and concealed information in his affidavit and nomination papers prima facie render him ineligible to fight elections in India," wrote BJP on Twitter.
