Speaking to Republic Media Network's Executive Editor Abhishek Kapoor in his final and most explosive interview of the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign trail - 49 days after his first election campaign interview with Republic's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami - PM Narendra Modi addressed an array of issues and expressed what he feels about Opposition unity.

When asked about the Opposition unity and the face of Opposition, PM Modi said:

"Neither do they (Opposition) have arithmetic nor do they have chemistry, they don't even have geography."
(Unke pas na ganit hai na chemistry hai, geography bhi nahi hai.)

He then added: "Now look, in Karnataka, when no one got a complete majority, they murdered democracy, conspired and formed the government. Leaders from every corner of the country reached Karnataka. They competed with each other to make their presence felt. They were holding each other's hands and talking photographs and were trying to show the nation that they are united. When they left for Delhi from Bengaluru, their unity collapsed. There's a famous Hindi film song - 'milte hai log yahan, milke bikharne ko'. So they meet again and again only to further collapse. They crumble only to meet again. They can write letters and invite each other, it's just an attempt at optics before the nation. People don't accept that but it works for media and makes headlines in newspapers. It makes no impact on the hearts of people."

(Jab Karnataka mein kisi ko spasht bahumat nahi mila, pichle darwaze se, loktantra ki hatya karke sarkaar banane ka khel khela gaya, to ye sab desh ke har kone kone se pohonch gaye. Ek doosre ko dakkha de deke, mundi dikha rahe the. Kisika kandha kaam kare ya na kare, haath unche karne ki koshish kar rahe the. Haat pakad pakad ke photo nikal rahe the. Aur desh ko message de rahe the ki dekho humari ekta hai. Benagluru se Delhi jaate jaate sab bikhar gaya. Hamare yahaan ek geet tha - 'Milte hai log yahaan, milke bikharne ko.' To ye baar baar milte hai, bikharte hai phir milne ke liye. Chitti likhte hai desh mein ye optic paida karne ke liye, na wo janta sweekar karti hai. Aur TV media ka kaam aa jaata hai. Jaanta ka is par koi prabhav nahi padta.)

Declaring that the NDA will be further stronger than the 2014 elections, PM Modi said:

"BJP is not fighting this election, Narendra Modi is not fighting this election, people of the country are fighting this election. They are fighting for a prosperous future of the country. In the elections, the country is running 10 steps ahead of my party, Country will make a stronger government than before, they will give more seats to the majority, it will make NDA strong."

(Ye chunav BJP lad hi nahi rahi hai, ye chunav Narendra Modi lad hi nahi raha, ye chunav desh ki janta lad rahi hai, chunav me mere dal se desh 10 kilometer aage daud raha hai. Desh ki janta pehle se mazboot sarkar banayegi, BJP ko adhik seete de k mazboot sarkar banayegi, NDA ko adhik seete de k mazboot banayegi.")
