Rahul Gandhi's credibility over his citizenship remains at stake, after the BJP accused the Congress party of holding a British citizenship. Republic Media Network trailed the citizenship row to London, to unveil the mystery behind the Congress president's listed UK address.
The building wherein Rahul Gandhi's address was registered, is known to be a Heritage building. It was known upon reaching that the Heritage building in Winchester, UK has been unused and locked down for the past three years.
A UK government source informed that while the planning authority of the Council were trying to refurbish the building, they were denied permission, stating that the building is listed and needs to be protected.
It is known that the Congress president is a 65% share holder of the company, Backops Limited and is also one of the Directors.
The Home Ministry issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi seeking a reponse over his citizenship. In its notice, the Home Ministry had cited a complaint by BJP MP Dr Subramanian Swamy which made reference to a company - Backops Limited - registered in the UK in which Rahul Gandhi is named as director and secretary, and also, critically, a British citizen. Pertinently, Rahul Gandhi's birthdate is listed accurately, something Dr Swamy has emphasised.
Here are the details of the Memorandum of Association of Backops Limited:
