Hours after the interview of PM Modi with Akshay Kumar, Congress general secretary for UP East criticised the Prime Minister in her election rally. While the Bollywood actor called the interview as a 'breather' amidst the heated up election campaigning, Priyanka Vadra attacked PM Modi by saying that he only talks with celebrities.
While adressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh, she said: “You may have seen him interviewing with big, noteworthy actors but you will never see him with people. I went to Varanasi recently, and I came to know that in the past five years, the Prime Minister hasn’t gone to any village.”
She added: "PM talks sweetly with the actors. Do you want a leader who only talks on TV with the leaders or those who come to you and talk about famers, talks about you, talks about how he will help you?"
In what is being considered a reaction to the interview of PM Modi with Akshay Kumar, Congress president Rahul Gandhi also reacted by sharing a video saying:
"Face the reality, acting will not work. Come in front of the people, chowkidar. Your lies will not work here."
On Wednesday, taking a break from the electoral campaigning amid the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi spoke to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar in a "non-political" interview where he shared anecdotes from his personal life and beyond. He shared few light moments with 'Khiladi' Kumar, shared jokes with him, spoke about Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna's 'anger' on the PM and much more.
